I hate that phrase. To be fair, I hate a lot of those kinds of phrases. At the start of the year, I prefer something like ‘new year, same me… but maybe with an upgrade’. That works.
So, with that in mind, I thought I’d share my potential upgrades with you, and how I’m getting along eleven days into 2020.
I’ve always wanted to get into reading more marketing and business books, but always get distracted by something more… interesting. But this year, I’ve pledged to read more.
Progress: Nope. I started the year by investing three evenings into the BBC’s new Dracula series, only to be left disappointed by the last episode, so this one hasn’t got off to a good start.
- Blog more
I love blogging. Always have. But with two kids and a full time job, it can be hard to find the time to fit it in. And sometimes, my only inspiration comes from Peppa Pig. This year though, I will make the time. Less Peppa, more writing.
Progress: Well, seeing as this is the first time I’ve blogged this year, I guess you could say that progress isn’t going too well. 5/10, must try harder.
- Use my time more wisely
This links to the two above. Less mindless scrolling on social media, less procrastination, less watching disappointing programmes on TV. More valuable time with my children, more focus on work, maybe even a little exercise. Maybe.
Progress: It isn’t all bad news. This one as gone well so far. Trips to the park, less wasted time on my phone, and thankfully, Dracula was short-lived. This one could have legs.
So I’m counting this as 1.5 out of 3, but NY resolutions are for the year, not just for January. There’s room, and time, for improvement! Share your resolutions, I’d love to hear how you’re getting on…
